Vue Entertainment customers can now organise crowdsourced screenings across the UK; giving film fans the power to create exclusive screenings at their local cinemas.
Vue’s partnership with ourscreen, a first of its kind digital-social platform, will give cinema-goers a catalogue of over 400 films to choose from, ranging from recent hits like Nightcrawler, foreign language films including Jules et Jim to classics such as Raging Bull to watch in exclusive screenings with their friends.
Catching up on a popular indie flick or reliving childhood favourites has never been easier as ourscreen allows users to either attend public screenings created by others, or create and share their own. Once the ticket threshold has been met, the screening is confirmed and customers can enjoy the showing either with their friends, societies and clubs, or like-minded members of the public.
People-powered screenings are available on-demand at 19 Vue cinemas across the UK.

About ourscreen
UK based ourscreen launched in a test phase at seven cinemas, Spring 2014. The first successful screening was of UK indie-horror The Borderlands, which was shortly followed by the world’s first people-powered-premiere for football documentary Next Goal Wins. The biggest successes to date have been the campaigns for Northern Souland What We Do In The Shadows – which led to both films securing more than 30 people-powered-cinema screenings each. Having been responsible for almost 400 screenings, ourscreen’s people-powered-cinema technology has proven to increase average cinema occupancy by 340%.
ourscreen enables film fans to take control of their local cinema. In three easy steps (pick a film - decide where and when - share your screening), we’re all able to create film screenings, for either just our friends, or anybody who wants to come. There are already over 400 films on the platform, and amongst those are recent hits like Amy, foreign language masterpieces like Jules et Jim and classics like Chinatown. If enough people book tickets the screening happens.
