Vue Bristol to launch super-sized VueXtreme Vue is bringing super-sized cinema to Bristol with the launch of VueXtreme at Vue Bristol Cribbs Causeway, which is 36% larger than regular cinema screens at over 90 meters squared.

With a total screen size bigger than two double deck buses, the super-sized VueXtreme is the first screen in Bristol for five years to deliver films on such a scale. Bringing a whole new dimension to cinema entertainment featuring crystal clear picture quality on a gigantic screen, VueXtreme provides a state-of-the-art, unrivalled level of entertainment for cinema goers in Bristol and the surrounding area.  The launch follows the closure of what was Bristol’s largest screen at another local cinema five years ago.

The VueXtreme at Vue Bristol measures over 16 meters wide and more than six metres high, which is:

• Bigger than 11 transit vans

• Bigger than 7 ten pin bowling alleys

• Bigger than two badminton courts

• New equivalent to double the floor space of an average UK new-build house

• The equivalent of 221 40” widescreen TVs

• The just under the size of a tennis court

The opening of VueXtreme in Bristol is a result of the success and popularity of the VueXtreme experience at other Vue sites such as Vue Westfield London. Vue Bristol Cribbs Causeway is one of the first of five Vue Cinemas to be upgraded with VueXtreme during spring 2012 as part of a phased, national roll-out.

Breathtaking picture quality

Vue’s digital projection technology is the most advanced in any cinema and gives unbelievably crystal clear, pin-sharp images.

Immersive sound

VueXtreme films incorporate a bespoke surround sound mix created especially for Vue and professionally mixed by one of the country’s leading sound engineers. It brings an unparalleled awe-inspiring level of sound quality - So powerful it’ll blow Vue customers away.

SuperVue Seating

The entire VueXtreme auditorium is fitted with over 340 extra-comfy, spacious SuperVue seats. Unlike many cinemas that have seats on a slope, Vue’s are stepped in tiers to give a perfect view of every inch of the giant screen. For those that want even more luxury, the auditorium also boasts 27 VIP seats.

Tim Richards, CEO of Vue Entertainment comments: “We are extremely proud to be setting the benchmark for big cinema experience in Bristol with VueXtreme.  The city has a vibrant cinema going audience and the site is one of our busiest locations in the UK. With this in mind we feel that we can excel in providing a more immersive experience for thrill-seeking cinema goers.”

“We want to ensure that Bristol is at the forefront of cutting edge cinema entertainment and our investment in Vue Bristol Cribbs Causeway highlights our commitment and dedication to creating the ultimate entertainment experience for everyone in the city and further afield.”

Project X, from the makers of The Hangover, will be the first film to be given the VueXtreme treatment with a preview screening on 1st March. The film follows three students as they throw a house party to elevate their social status. However, when the invite spreads over social networks the house party becomes more than the trio bargained for and turns them from losers to legends.  Future VueXtreme films will include The Avengers 3D, The Hunger Games, The Amazing Spider-Man 3D and Dark Shadows.
