Carsten Horn appointed as Managing Director of CinemaxX Holdings GmbH and Christoph Ahmadi leaves CinemaxX.
Vue International today announced that Carsten Horn has been appointed as Managing Director of CinemaxX Holdings GmbH, which operates 33 state-of-the-art cinemas with 285 screens in Germany and Denmark. Carsten joins CinemaxX after a highly successful career working as Managing Director of Tchibo’s 700 coffee and retail stores across Germany and the 210 stores owned and operated by flower retailer Blume 2000. Before that Carsten was a Regional Sales Director at Max Bahr. Carsten has developed a very detailed knowledge and understanding of multi-site retail operations and he will bring all this experience to CinemaxX during the next exciting stage of development in the digital era.
At the same time Christoph Ahmadi the current Managing Director of CinemaxX GmbH is leaving to pursue his own interests in a new venture. He joined the Board of CinemaxX in November 2012 and contributed significantly in the transition from a listed company to private ownership by Vue, in particular the development of a new joint venture in cinema marketing and advertising and re-positioning the CinemaxX brand.
Tim Richards, Founder & CEO of Vue Entertainment International, says: "We are delighted that we have been able to secure the services of a highly experienced and talented Managing Director in Carsten Horn to continue the excellent work that Christoph has been responsible for within the company. We wish Christoph our best wishes for his future in his new endeavor. I am really pleased to be welcoming Carsten to the growing Vue Entertainment International Group as we seek to develop new services at our existing cinemas and expand in new markets across Europe."
Carsten Horn commented on joining VEI Group and CinemaxX, “Since leaving Tchibo last year I have been searching for the right company that would give me the opportunity to utilise the skills and experience I have developed across a wide range of Retail businesses over many years. The right company has to have the right culture, great people, world class assets and an appetite for the future, Vue Group ticks all these boxes and I can’t wait to meet everyone at CinemaxX in Germany and Denmark and get started.” Carsten starts his new position on February 2nd 2015 and will work with Christoph during a transition period until March 2015.
Christoph Ahmadi says: "I would like to thank the entire CinemaxX team and the Vue team for the past 3 years which have been very exciting. It has been a pleasure to promote further Germany's most famous cinema brand with great and highly skilled colleagues and employees and I wish everyone at CinemaxX much success for the future. I am now looking forward to dedicating myself completely to my new project"
